Campus Life

You will encounter many opportunities to re-examine yourself and develop your character by associating with new friends and our teaching staff.

With a student body of about 800 including graduate students, Tenshi College is a moderate size school. However, we are supported by a long school tradition that was established and has been continued by our alumni over the past 50 years. This practice generates an atmosphere of contemplation. Under this tradition, you will find self-improvement by experiencing seasonal events with your fellow students who share with you a common purpose.

Tradition of seasonal events

Tenshi College offers various events each season: At our Easter Assembly, we welcome new students and start our new academic year. An Intramural Chorus Contest is a traditional event which reflects our philosophy of harmony. The Tenshi College Festival demonstrates our achievements and activities to local residents, friends outside Tenshi College and the alumni. In our Athletic Meet, we spend a happy day having interclass matches. At our Christmas Assembly, we solemnly celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ with hymns and a candlelight service.

Entrance Ceremony

Amid expectations and nervousness, students from all over Japan join, renew their determination and make a fresh start together by taking part in this ceremony.

Easter Assembly

Senior students and teaching staff get together and welcome each new student. This is an occasion to experience our founders' principle, "To the Truth through Love."

Intramural Chorus Contest

In Tenshi College, each department consists of two classes in every grade. About 40 members in each class cooperate and practice a choral song for this contest.

The Tenshi College Festival

The Department of Nursing and the Department of Nutrition respectively take advantage of their expertise to demonstrate their achievements. The academic year 2004 marks the 51st Festival.

Athletic Meet

The academic year 2003 was the first Athletic Meet in which students in all four grades could participate. This followed our reorganization from a junior college to a four-year college. The students spent a pleasant day participating in games of basketball, volleyball, dodge ball, jump rope, and tamaire, a ball throwing game.

Capping Ceremony

This is the day when students mark their first tangible step on their way to becoming a nurse by putting on a nurse's cap for the first time. It is an opportunity to extend their gratitude to teachers, parents and friends, and to renew their determination.

Christmas Assembly

We celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ amid a solemn atmosphere and calm prayer. Surrounded by candlelight and hymns which fill up the hall, each of us respectively greets our own Christmas.

Baccalaureate Mass

Prior to commencement, we hold a Baccalaureate Mass at Kita 11-jo Catholic Church. This is an opportunity for our graduating seniors to deepen their dedication by remembering all those people they encountered and the many events they experienced during their college lives. With this, our graduates prepare to take their next steps.

Commencement

By completing the required studies and attaining the appointed standards, students receive an academic degree and receive an accredited diploma. Now, they take leave of college life.
